Project Overview
I developed a keen interest in double-sided platforms, business development, and innovation management as a result of my interaction with Cando Immigration Agency. Rechub is a cutting-edge immigration and travel platform that was conceived and developed as a result, with the goal of smoothly, openly, and effectively connecting agencies and clients. Rechub was created to alleviate the difficulties associated with the immigration and travel procedures. It did this by offering a user-friendly platform on which agencies could advertise their services and clients could track their progress, comprehend the paperwork needed, and get in touch with attorneys.
Key Responsibilities
Concept Development & Business Planning:
- Developed the initial idea for Rechub by identifying a critical gap in the market for a platform that could streamline and democratize the immigration and travel process.
- Created a comprehensive business plan, pitch deck, and business model canvas, articulating the platform’s value proposition, market opportunity, revenue model, and growth strategy.
- Presented the business plan to potential investors, partners, and stakeholders, successfully securing a co-founder and assembling a skilled development team.
Product Development & Agile Methodology:
- Led the product development process, creating detailed roadmaps, breaking down the vision into epics, and translating them into actionable user stories and tasks.
- Prioritized the product backlog to ensure that each iteration delivered high-impact product increments, consistently aligning with user needs and business goals.
- Managed the development team using Agile methodologies, ensuring rapid iterations and continuous improvement based on user feedback and market demands.
- Focused on delivering a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that addressed the core pain points of both agencies and clients, laying the foundation for future enhancements.
UX Design & Transparency Features:
- Worked closely with UX designers to create a smooth, intuitive user experience that made complex immigration processes accessible and transparent for all users.
- Implemented features that allowed clients to track their case progress, view required documentation, and understand each step of the process, significantly improving user trust and engagement.
- Ensured that the platform’s design and functionality catered to the needs of both agencies and clients, offering a balanced experience that facilitated communication and streamlined workflows.
Stakeholder Engagement & Market Strategy:
- Orchestrated a successful MVP launch event, inviting key stakeholders including heads of immigration agencies, industry experts, and potential clients.
- Presented Rechub’s innovative solutions, highlighting how the platform addressed the specific pain points of businesses and customers alike, leading to key contracts with major agencies.
- Deployed a zig-zag market strategy to secure both sides of the platform, partnering with other brands, participating in relevant events, and collaborating with institutions and business partners to attract clients.
- Focused on building critical mass by ensuring strong engagement from agencies while driving client acquisition through targeted marketing campaigns, strategic partnerships, and collaborations.
Business Impact & Market Challenges:
- Despite securing significant agency partnerships and achieving strong initial traction, the Iranian government’s unexpected ban on these types of services led to a sudden market collapse.
- Although the project ultimately faced insurmountable external challenges, the experience was invaluable in honing my skills in product management, business strategy, and leadership.
Conclusion
I was able to put my knowledge of double-sided platforms, product management, and business development to use and grow with the ambitious and creative Rechub platform project. Unexpected regulatory obstacles ultimately had an impact on the project, but it taught me a great deal about leading cross-functional teams, navigating complex markets, and driving product innovation. This experience strengthened my desire to develop products that have an impact and taught me how to be resilient and adaptable in the face of difficulty. My approach to product management and entrepreneurial endeavors is still shaped by the knowledge and abilities I’ve gained along the way.
